Australian church lauds two anti-racism websites

As part of the UN’s International Day of the World’s Indigenous People earlier this month, the Uniting Church in Queensland’s “JourneyOnline” blog named twoWebsites of the week” that attack racism against Australian Aborigines.

They are ANTaR ( and Creative Spirits (

JourneyOnline wrote:

“Creative Spirits contains information about racism, common and misunderstood types of racism and various examples of racism in Australia.

“ANTaR is a non-Indigenous national advocacy organisation dedicated to the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, through lobbying, public campaigns and advocacy.

“Both sites call for a change in attitudes and behaviours towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.”

'Creative Spirits' belongs to a German, Jens-Uwe Korff, originally from Braunschweig, who now works in the IT department of an Australian media corporation in Sydney.

He writes:

“Scratch an Australian to find a racist. Racism exists at all levels of Australian society but Australians are in denial.

“Are Australians truly as open-minded and open-hearted as the world perceives them? Or does a multicultural mentality hide racism?

“Racism in Australia is alive, it's only hidden behind a friendly mask.”
