Speaking to Foroyaa, one Mariama Faal, who is a vendor at Westfield Junction, said since the time when President Jammeh rejected the result of the 1st December, 2016 election, they became anxious because they are not used to such. ‘’As you can see we are sitting and the military are standing here with their guns and as Gambians we are not used to this, in the past we only saw guns when the President or a diplomat,’’ she asserted. She said everybody is yearning for the day the incumbent President will hand over power to the President Elect Adama Barrow. Madam Faal added that the outgoing President should know that the people of The Gambia are not in for war. ‘’As you can see, business is not going on like before, people are not many here like before, you will sit here the whole day without selling anything,’’ Madam Faal lamented.
